Stone laid for road in Dhanusha
Kathmandu, May 14:
Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Shiv Shankar Mukherjee, today laid the foundation stone for a five-kilometre road from Mahuwa Khajuri to Lagma Bazaar in Dhanusha. According to a release, the road will be constructed with a grant assistance of over NRs 26 million from the government of India.
“Road projects like this would not only facilitate the mobility and development of local people but also bring closer the people on both sides of the Indo-Nepal border through improved connectivity,” the release quoted Mukherjee as saying.
The release said construction of the road would improve connectivity of Mahuwa VDC of Dhanusha with the local market and KSHSB Higher Secondary School of the area. “The project would be implemented by the DDC, Dhanusha, with an oversight panel consisting of representatives from DDC, Department of Roads and Administrative officer of Dhanusha.”
