Storm hits PLA camp

Chitwan, April 25:

A hailstorm lashed the third division camp of the Maoist PLA yesterday. Spokesperson for the camp, Abiral, said over 60 tents — 40 of the Basu Memorial Brigade and main cantonment and canteen of the Dinesh Ramji Brigade — were blown away. PLA men are facing difficulties because the hailstorm has damaged remaining tents, Abiral added.

Meanwhile, a report from Damak said at least 11 huts in the Beldangi-based Bhutanese refugee camps were damaged in a storm last night. “Property worth around Rs 50,000 was damaged when the storm shattered the huts. In another incident last night, a wild elephant damaged the entrance gate of the Chulachuli-based first division headquarters of the PLA in Ilam.
