Dang, May 10:

Normal life in Dang was affected today due to the general strike called by Tharu National Liberation Front (TNLF) protesting Sanoshree incident.

Both short and long route vehicles stayed off the road and the business houses also remained shut. The main bazaars of the district including Ghorahi, Tulsipur, Lamahi, Bha-luwang, Narayanpur and Gadhwa remained closed. Hundreds of vehicles were stranded at Bhaluwang, Sisahaniya and Lamahi.

The demonstrators placed roadblocks in a number of places in the Dang section of Mahendra Highway.
