Student held for showing black flag to DPM, ministers in Bara

BARA: One of the students raising a black flag to Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Ishwor Pokhrel was arrested in Bara district today.

The arrestee has been identified as a member of the All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU). He was taken into custody from Bharat Chok in Kalaiya Sub-metropolitan City.

The student union aligned with Dahal-Nepal faction of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) staged a demonstration while a dozen ministers including DPM Pokhrel and Minister of Urban Development Prabhu Sah were heading to participate in a mass gathering.

According to police, the arrestee was caught showing the black flag while chanting slogans against Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Gautam Mishra said that the arrested student would be freed by the evening as an investigation was underway.
