Student unions call to make talks a success

Kathmandu, October 8:

Seven students union affiliated to different political parties today appealed to the seven political parties, Maoists and the government to address all the problems faced by people and to honour the sentiment of the Jana Andolan II by making the peace talks successful.

The major students’ unions today held a joint meeting at the central office of the All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU) affiliated to CPN-ML. In order to address the financial, social, political and educational rights to the citizens, the summit talks should endorse the following decisions, they said.

The students bodies today stressed on immediate formation of interim constitution, announcement of interim government, formation of interim parliament and announcement of constituent assembly election.

The alliance between the seven political parties, Maoists and the government should not delay talks anymore and the talks should be conclusive, the students unions said. The students unions stated that the students bodies could go to any extreme in order to make this peace talks a success. The ANNFSU, the Nepal Students Union (NSU), the NSU close to Nepali Congress (D), the All Nepal National Independent Students Union-Revolutionary (ANNISU-R), the Nepal Progressive Students Federation, the ANNFSU (Unified) and the ANNFSU close to CPN-ML took part in today’s meeting.
