Students boycott exam

Mahendranagar, August 7:

Blaming the campus administration for teaching under the old curriculum even after a change in the curriculum, ICom (first year) examinees from the Belauri (Kanchanpur)-based Mahakali Multiple Campus today set question papers on fire at the Siddhanath Science Campus (Mahendranagar).

The enraged examinees said they had made preparations for the examination on the basis of the old curriculum of the Tribhuvan University.

Students blamed the campus administration for teaching according to the old curriculum, though the administration had been informed about the change in curriculum.

Students also burnt the effigy of campus chief Harka Bahadur Kunwar on the Mahakali campus premises. Campus chief Kunwar said the students suffered because the Tribhuvan University did not instruct the campus to follow the new curriculum.

Expressing regret over the incident, Kunwar, the campus chief, said attempts were under way to address the concern of the affected students.
