Students protest IoE exam fee policy

The Association of Engineering Students (AES)-Nepal today announced a series of protest programmes beginning tomorrow, demanding equal examination fees from the students of all private colleges affiliated to the Institute of Engineering (IoE). The AES said private college students have to pay Rs 1,000 for regular examinations while the Pulchowk campus students are charged only Rs 560. IoE students have to pay Rs 300 for re-examination, while the students from private campuses have to pay Rs 600 for two subjects, and Rs 1,000 for more than two papers. The students plan to gherao the Office of the Controller of Examinations (OCE) tomorrow; padlock OCE on Tuesday; lock dean’s office on July 20; serve 24-hour ultimatum and submit a memorandum to TU VC on July 21.
