BAJURA, FEBRUARY 21
Shanti Sewa Griha distributed relief materials to landslide victims, the poor, and orphans in Budhiganga Municipality, Bajura, today.
The food materials and clothes were distributed to 29 families.
Man Bahadur Bohora, a local, said that rice, pulses, salt, cooking oil, clothes, shoes and sleeping bags were distributed to the impoverished families of the municipality. The materials were given to orphans in coordination with the ward office.
Programme Coordinator Bijendra Kunwar of Shanti Sewa Griha said the food materials were distributed to families facing food crisis in the first phase. He said they would also provide additional help to needy people. The griha has also helped orphans with education.
A local in Budhiganga Municipality Gorakh Khaki Chandara said that it was a great help during the food crisis.
"We are facing food shortage and running our family with daily wage," he added. Chandara said that he had struggled hard to make ends meet.
The sewa griha had also helped people in Bajura during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Marianne Grospietch has been involved in social work for the last 36 years. She had established Shanti Sewa Griha in Nepal. The sewa griha has been helping the helpless and orphans in Bajura.
Programme Director Apsara Karki said the griha had also helped COVID infected people with oxygen cylinders.
