Minister Rawal yet to appear before court

Three months have passed since a fraud and cheating case was registered against Sudurpaschim Province State Minister of Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment Prakash Rawal, but Minister Rawal has yet to appear before Kanchnapur District Court.

Fraud and cheating case was filed against 36 persons, including Minister Rawal and shareholders of Janajyoti Multiple Campus, on July 23.

Section Officer Nabaraj Pandey at the district court said ten persons, including Tara Prasad Joshi of Bhimdutta Municipality, had filed the case against them.

There had been a dispute among shareholders regarding the share of Janajyoti Multiple Campus located in Mahendranagar for the past two years. The case registered with the court stated that the share documents were fake and some shareholders were swindled. “The process has not moved ahead as defendants have not reported to the court. Only two defendants have appeared before the court till now,” said Pandey. All the defendants are shareholders of the campus. Most of them have been teaching at the campus since its establishment.

Minister Rawal has said allegation against him regarding the case was an attempt to tarnish his image.
