Surgical delivery service halted in district hospital
Bhojpur, August 9
Surgical delivery service provided by Bhojpur District Hospital has been closed for the past four days due to lack of experts in Bhojpur.
The service was closed since August 4 after an anesthetic assistant Suresh Thapa at the hospital was transferred to Province 5 as per staff adjustment programme. Information officer at the hospital Rajendra Raut said the service was halted as the concerned authority failed to manage another staffer replacing Thapa.
Acting Chief Dr Pabitra Shrestha said she had informed the health directorate and the district coordination committee and local levels of Bhojpur, about the issue. Service-seekers have demanded that the hospital resume the service. Woman Health Volunteer Sita Karki of Bhojpur Municipality said service-seekers were compelled to go to another health facility following the closure of the service in the hospital.
The service in the hospital started from 2010. It was closed time and again due to lack of experts. As many as eight doctors have been working in the district hospital.
