KARNALI, JANUARY 22
In view of increased number of service recipients, Surkhet District Administration Office has announced public service delivery on every alternative day from tomorrow onwards.
The administration office said that the new system was introduced to manage public service delivery by reducing crowds amid the spread of Omicron, a new variant of COVID-19.
Administrative Officer Ram Bahadur Budha said services such as distribution of citizenship, national identity card, registration of voter name list and e-passport would be given to service-seekers from particular local levels on specific days.
According to him, service seekers from Lekbensi, Birendranagar and Panchapuri would get service on Sunday and Friday while people from Birendranagar would be given services on Tuesday. Likewise, the turn for people from Bheriganga, Chingad and Barahatal is Monday and Tuesday. Similarly, people from Gurvakot, Simta and Chaukune would be availed public services on Wednesday and Thursday.
Meanwhile, service recipients have been asked to mandatorily appear with the vaccination card to receive public service.
In Birendranagar, 'Where is your Mask?' campaign has been reintroduced by the District COVID-19 Crisis Management Centre.
Chief Minister of Karnali Province Jeevan Bahadur Shahi also joined the campaign during which face masks were distributed in different areas of the town.
The locals were also urged to get vaccinated against COVID-19 as part of the campaign.
On the occasion, Chief Minister Shahi said that every citizen should strictly follow public health protocols to control the increasing cases of coronavirus infection. He also asked the locals to avoid unnecessary crowds.
Currently, there are 596 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Surkhet, including 215 new cases recorded yesterday alone.
