Surkhet woman killed in bus-bus collision in Dhading
DHADING: A passenger lost her life and 11 others have been injured after two buses collided head-on in Benighat-8 of Dhading district along the Prithvi Highway on Saturday.
The victim has been identified as Gaganshila Thapa Magar (60) of Surkhet, according to police.
A passenger bus (Na 4 Kha 4601), which was heading to Kathmandu from Surkhet, and another passenger bus (Na 5 Kha 4362), which heading to Lamjung from Kathmandu collided with each other near Gomatikhola this morning, killing the woman on the spot.
Both the buses were speeding at the time of the accident, police said, suspecting that the accident occurred as one of them tried to overtake other vehicles on the highway.
Among the injured, two are said to be in critical condition. One of them has been sent to the Capital for treatment, said Area Police Office, Gajuri.
