NEPALGUNJ: Acting president of Nepali Congress Sushil Koirala today said the country would plunge into an internal conflict if Maoist combatants were integrated into the Nepali Army en masse.

Addressing the inaugural session of a training programme of the party, Koirala said, ‘’Mass induction of the indoctrinated fighters into the national army will cause another conflict in the country.’’ He said their mass integration was impossible in any of the security bodies but suggested the combatants could be given the responsibility of guarding the forest, industrial sector or infrastructures. Koirala said the country was gripped by the Maoist anarchy. He expressed doubt over a timely statute and completion of peace process citing anarchic activities of Maoists.
