Pokhara bird flu: Suspension on trade of meat and eggs ends

POKHARA: The suspension imposed on the trade of fowls, meat and eggs after the infection of bird flu among the birds has been lifted in Pokhara of Kaski district on Friday.

The District Bird Flu Controlling Technical Committee had imposed the suspension in 18 wards of the Pokhara Sub-Metropolitan City for 10 days since last Saturday.

Information Officer at the District Livestock Service Office, Thagendra Prasad Aryal, said the suspension was lifted as the virus was not found in any new bird since that date.

However, the suspension would continue for 42 days in the Khalte area in Pokhara, where the poultry had been found with the infection.
