Taiwanese tourist goes missing

A Taiwanese tourist trekking on the Annapurna Trekking Circuit has gone missing after being swept away by a local river in Annapurna Rural Municipality yesterday.

Sources at the District Police Office, Kaski, citing the eyewitnesses, said HuiJu Chien, 66, was swept away by the Humaku khola River in Kaski’s Annapurna Rural Municipality-11 while she was returning from Annapurna Base Camp in the afternoon. The locals had reported the incident to the police.

HuiJu, along with her husband Koaij Yang wu and a guide Ang Sherpa, had embarked on the trekking through a trekking company, Tibbet Trekking. According to Spokesperson for District Police Office, Kaski, RabindramanGurung, a police team has reached the site today.

“After being informed of the incident, a police team led by ASI Tul Bahadur Gurung left for Ghandruk yesterday.
