Talks meaningless if no review on federal model, says Yadav

RAJBIRAJ: The meaning of talks with the government would end if the federal structure was not reviewed according to their demands, said Upendra Yadav, Chairman of the Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal, one of the constituents of the United Democratic Madhesi Front.

In a press conference, organised by the Federation of Nepali Journalists, Saptari chapter, on Thursday, Yadav informed that if the government did not sort out the issue, the Front would intensify the protests.

The UDMF would hold a meeting on October 31 in Janakpur to hold discussions on further programmes, according to Yadav.

The government is just showing brutality with its guns on protesters and if the government is not conscious about the problems, they will mobilise all their efforts in the street, warned Yadav.

Meanwhile, the Madhesi leader stressed on the need to maintain good relations with two neighboring countries; rather than damaging the relations.

Party Vice-Chairperson Renu Kumari Yadav, Central Member Sailendra Prasad Sah and District Chairman Dinesh Yadav were present at the conference.
