Talks to unify CPN-M, Unity-Centre today
Kathmandu, December 13:
A joint panel of the CPN-Maoist and the CPN-Unity-Centre Masal, which was formed to unify the two parties, will hold a meeting tomorrow to expedite the unification process, according to Unity-Centre Masal general secretary comrade Prakash.
The two parties had formed the Joint Unity Coordination Committee to proceed with the unification process. A central committee meeting of the CPN-Maoist that kicked off on Wednesday had in principle given an approval to the unification process with the Unity-Centre Masal and other fringe left parties.
Comrade Prakash said they had already sorted out their ideological differences and were focussing on organisational adjustment. “We are working on organisational adjustment of both the parties,” said Prakash. It is learnt that the Maoist leadership has agreed to accommodate eight central leaders of the Unity-Centre Masal in the Maoist central committee.
He said the Maoist side had also agreed to debate the Maoist thought and Prachandapath till the upcoming unity convention, which will decide its fate.
But the recently concluded national cadres’ meeting of the Maoists had insisted that the Maoist thought and Prachandapath should be persisted with until the unity convention.
