Talks with protesting parties today: Thapa
Kathmandu: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Kamal Thapa, who is also the head of the government’s talks team on Sunday said government is holding official talks with agitating Madhesi parties on Monday. DPM Thapa has tweeted: Official talks between the government and agitating parties is scheduled for November 9, 1 pm at the foreign ministry. However, Laxman Lal Karna, a member of the talks team formed by agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front, said the UDMF has told DPM Thapa during their meeting at the Legislature Parliament to speak about the Birgunj incident officially so as to create positive environment for talks. The ongoing talks between the government and the agitating Madhesi parties were halted after an agitator died in police firing at Birgunj.
