Tamang unanimously elected deputy speaker of Provincial Assembly

HETAUDA: Sole candidate Radhika Tamang has been unanimously elected the deputy speaker of the Province Assembly in Province 3 today.

Speaker of the Province Sanu Kumar Shrestha had announced Tamang as the deputy speaker at the Provincial Assembly Secretariat in Hetauda.

The CPN-UML Parliamentary Party leader Dor Mani Paudel had proposed her candidacy while CPN Maoist Centre Deputy Parliamentary Party leader Kumari Moktan had seconded the proposal.

The Speaker administered the oath of office and secrecy to Tamang. It has been learnt that she will be assuming office today itself.

Meanwhile, the CPN-UML and CPN MC, jointly, proposed Dor Mani Paudel’s name for the candidacy of the Chief Minister in Province 3.

The Secretariat would start the process for the same tomorrow, informed provincial secretary Chaturbhuj Gyawali.
