Tanahun youth held for planting explosives at public places

DAMAULI: Police on Friday paraded a youth who was arrested on the charge of creating terror among members of the public by planting explosives at public places including schools in Tanahun district.

DSP Surendra Bahadur Gurung said a police mobile team arrested Suman Gurung (29) of Dhadgaun in Bandipur Rural Municipality-9 from outside the Satyawati School in Byas Municipality.

Police seized five pipe bombs, 200 grams of coal, two matchboxes and other items.

Meanwhile, police presented the suspect before the Tanahun District Court, which remanded him to custody for seven days, informed Gurung.

DSP Gurung further said the suspect would be booked under the Explosives Act, 1961.
