22 people had boarded the plane this morning

KATHMANDU, MAY 29

A Tara-air aircraft flying from Pokhara to Jomsom with 22 people onboard, has gone out of contact.

The 9N-AET aircraft had three crew, 13 Nepali, four Indian and two German passengers aboard.

​​​​​​It was piloted by Captain Prabhakar Ghimire and took off from Pokhara at around 9:55am.

According to sources at the Tribhuvan International Airport, all contact was lost with the aircraft a few minutes after it took off, after entering the Mustang-airspace, a little after 10:00 am.

Meanwhile, it has been learnt that a helicopter has been sent from Pokhara for searching the aircraft in and around the area where contact was last established.
