RAJBIRAJ: Two armed outfits active in the Tarai, which have been also sitting for dialogues with the government, announced their unification on Thursday. The two groups — Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha and Tarai Samyukta Janakranti Party Nepal — named the new party 'Tarai Mukti Morcha'. The leaders of both outfits agreed to keep the flag of Tarai Samyukta Janakranti Party Nepal. Rajiv Jha alias Utkarsha Mukti, who was the chairman of the Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha, has been named the central chairman of the new group. Speaking at a unification programme here today, Jha claimed that they were unified to fight for the welfare of the Madhes and Madhesi people. Stating that no Madhes based organisations worked for the welfare of the Madhesi people, he said, "I will lead the campaign of equipping the Madhesi people with their rights.''
