ITAHARI: A motorcyclist was crushed to death by a truck in a road accident in Itahari Sub-Metropolis along the Dharan-Biratnagar road section in Sunsari district on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as a Tarun Dal cadre Roshan Tamang of Itahari-20.

According to police, Tamang riding on the motorcycle (Ko 6 Pa 992) overtook the truck (Na 5 Kha 3438), then suddenly collided head-on with a tractor (Ko 1 Ta 1583) and fell on the road near Shri Sathi Fuel Centre Pvt Ltd,  subsequently, the speeding truck ran over him, at around 9:00 am today.

Tamang was on his way to Biratnagar from Itahari, when the incident happened, added police.

Meanwhile, police have impounded both the vehicles and drivers for further investigation into the case.
