Tarun Dal to press NC for poll seats
Kathmandu, January 30:
The central committee meeting of the Nepal Tarun Dal, a youth wing of the Nepali Congress, has decided to pressure NC to pick its members as candidates for the CA polls.
At a press conference organised by the NTD to publicise its decisions made eight days ago, NTD president Mahendra Yadav today said the NTD would ask the party to provide seats to its members for the CA polls.
He said new Nepal would not materialise if youths were barred from contesting polls.
“The meeting has decided to support Prime Minister and party chairman GP Koirala who has vowed to conduct the polls on April 10,” the statement issued by the NTD adds.
Yadav said the youth organisation had formed main publicity committee comprising 9,151 members for the polls and those youths, forming security teams with at least 101 youths in a team, would be deployed at every polling booth.
The meeting has also decided to organise regional, district, area, ward and village-level training and central representatives would be deployed in all 75 districts.
The NTD has demanded that the government return the properties seized by Maoists during the conflict and rehabilitate the displaced people.
