Task force fails to find ways to induct parties in HLPM

KATHMANDU: The meeting of the six-member task force of the High-Level Political Mechanism ended inconclusively today after it failed to find a consensual modality to include other parties in the HLPM.

The meeting was held at the CPN-UML headquarters in Balkhu. UML standing committee member Bharat Mohan Adhikari, who is also a member of the task force, told mediapersons that the meeting had conflicting views on accommodating other parties in the mechanism, headed by NC president GP Koirala.

The task force was supposed to give a final touch to the Terms of Reference of the HLPM

and present the same to the three-member mechanism tomorrow.

Adhikari said they would sit again tomorrow morning and try to finalise the modality of including other parties in the mechanism. He said they had discussed the HLPM's ToR, its code of conduct and inclusion of other parties in the mechanism.
