Kavre police arrested a teacher of Kalika Secondary School located in Bethanchowk Rural Municipality for raping two school girls.

Secondary level English teacher Shankar Pahari, 31, of Khopasi in Panauti Municipality was nabbed on the basis of the FIR filed with the police office on Friday. Kavre police Chief SP Rabiraj Khadka said Pahari had been remanded to police custody.

As per the FIR, Pahari has been accused of raping two girls of nine years of age studying in Grade V. The teacher has been accused of keeping two girls on the last bench and groping their sensitive parts. He has also been charged with raping them on the school premises and on the way home after school got over.

One of the victims’ father claimed that Pahari had been raping one girl for the past one year and the other for the past few months.

The incident came to the light as the victim girl reported to her mother about the teacher’s crime when she was raped by the teacher for the last time after classes got over on Tuesday.

When the incident came to light, another girl too revealed that Pahari had raped her on Wednesday. A case was filed at the District Police Office on behalf of both the victims on Thursday.
