Teachers, professors warn of stern agitation
Kavre, September 5
Agitating professors at Kathmandu University in Dhulikhel, Kavre today warned they would intensify their agitation if their demands were not met.
They have put forth an eight-point demand, including promotion of varsity employees and teachers, to the management. Kathmandu University Professors’ Union has padlocked two dean offices of the School of Engineering and School of Sciences under the varsity, putting forth their eight-point demand since last Thursday. Their demands include promotion of teachers and employees on the ground of experience and qualifications, determination of maximum contract period for contract teachers and staffers and resolution of seniority dispute seen between contract and permanent teachers.
Union Chair Dr Bedmani Dahal said they would launch fresh agitation programmes as the university management had failed to address their demands.
