RAJBIRAJ, SEPTEMBER 28

Early childhood teachers staged sit-in protest for two hours for the second day today in front of Rajbiraj Municipality Office after the municipality did not release the increased salary in Saptari.

The government has increased the salary of the teachers. The teachers have also protested for two hours even during Jitiya Festival.

The teachers have extended the time of the protest. They said that they did not receive the increased salary as the government had increased the salary of early childhood teachers, Child Development helper and staffers of the school.

Protest Committee member secretary Biva Jha said that the teachers did not get the salary even though the government had increased Rs 2,000 and local government Rs 7,000.

The women protesters said that they were supposed to receive Rs 15,000 monthly.

The protest committee said that they had submitted a memorandum, carried out the teaching-learning activities tying black band around their arms, held talks with the stakeholders in its first phase.
