Teenage girl found dead

Bhairahawa, April 17

The body of a fifteen-year-old girl Saraswoti Harijan of Brindaban, Omsatiya Rural Municipality, was found in Rupandehi today.

She had gone out of family contact since last night. The body was recovered with bruises all over her face and legs, according to District Police Office Rupandehi Spokesperson DSP Dilli Narayan Pandey.

She had gone out of family contact after she left the house to go to toilet. As she didn’t return the whole night, the family had reported to the police.

“The body was recovered from a field around one-and-a-half kilometres away from the house by a joint search team of police and locals,” said Ram Sewak Yadav, a local teacher.

Her private part was bleeding. Hence, security personnel surmised that she might have been murdered after rape. “This is a mysterious incident. The body was handed over to the family of the deceased after post-mortem at Bhim Hospital.

A special investigation team has been formed to probe the incident,” said DSP Pandey.
