PALPA: A youth drowned while swimming at Tinau River in Tinau Rural Municipality-3 of Palpa district on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Sushil Shrestha (18) of Patuwathum in Sandhikharka Municipality-1 of Arghakhanchi district.

Shrestha drowned while he was swimming in the the river near Deadbox area, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Binod Ghimire, Information Officer at the District Police Office, Palpa.

Meanwhile, a youth who disappeared while swimming in a river near Rani Mahal, Palpa is yet to be recovered.

Sangam Karki (18) of Harthok of Ribdikot Rural Municipality-3 was swept away by the Kaligandaki River along with his friend Ayush Khanal on Nepali New Year's Day.

Khanal's body was recovered from the Kaligandaki River near Rani Mahal on Sunday.
