Teenager held for raping 7-yo girl in Pokhara, sent to rehabilitation
POKHARA: Police in Kaski district held a 15-year-old boy, on Wednesday, for sexually abusing a 7-year-old girl on Saturday last week.
Acting on the complaint against the individual lodged with police, the teenager was detained and later sent to a rehabilitation centre on the permission of Kaski District Court, according to Kaski Police Chief, Superintendent of Police (SP) Om Rana. He said that the boy confessed to sexually abusing the minor girl.
Police have not revealed the name and identity of the offender citing his age.
The teenager had reportedly asked the girl to go with him to take a bath at a cascade nearby on September 22. Her mother was at home who initially did not allow the girl to go with the neighbouring teenager, but finally gave permission when she started crying.
While taking bath in the cascade, the teenager took the girl to a bush and raped her, said police and added that the boy had offered her sweets on their way back home to not tell anybody about what happened.
As the girl's parents noticed changes in her behaviour including restlessness during sleep, they insisted the girl to tell the truth, following which she told her parents about the sexual abuse she suffered.
Following a medical check-up, the doctor revealed that the girl had been raped.
Meanwhile, the teenager confessed to the crime after the girl's parents coaxed him, said police.
