Teenager involved in Siraha gang rape arrested; two absconding

KATHMANDU: A teenager has been arrested on the charge of raping a 13-year-old girl in Karjanha Municipality-1 of Siraha district on Sunday.

The arrested has been identified as local resident Shyam Mahara (18).

Acting on the report that Mahara and two others had raped the teenage girl, a team of security personnel deployed from Bandipur-based Area Police Office held Mahara.

According to police, the girl was gang-raped when she was fetching fodder from the local forest on Sunday evening.

Meanwhile, investigation into the case is underway and the search is on for two others allegedly involved in the heinous crime, police informed.
