POKHARA: A gang of eight persons on Tuesday has been arrested in Pokhara on illegal possession of a pistol.

The arrestees have been identified as Ishwor Shrestha, Sanjiv Rai, Bijaya Thapa, Pradeep Gurung, Sagar Gurung, Bishal Paudel among others who hail from Shukla Gandaki- 5 in Tanahun district, according to Inspector Mohan Mani Niraula at Ward Police Office, Baidam.

Prompted by the suspicious activities  of the gang, police intercepted and frisked a private car (Ga 2 Cha 2133) at Khahare, in Lakeside area

Currently, the offenders are detained at the Ward Police Office and further investigation launched into the matter.

Police believe that they are the part of the gang involved in rigging a tender-bidding process in Tanahun district.
