Thakur’s party to be formed today
Kathmandu, December 27:
Dissident Madhesi leaders and lawmakers, who had quit the Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Nepal Sadbhavana Party (Anandi Devi) and Badri Prasad Mandal-led Nepal Sadbhavana Party a few weeks ago, are set to form a new political outfit tomorrow.
Hridayesh Tripathi, who had quit the NSP (A), told this daily that they would launch a new political outfit called the Tarai-Madhes Democratic Party (TMDP) at a press conference tomorrow. A marathon meeting held in the capital today finalised the party’s concept paper, party’s ad-hoc statue and regulations, Tripathi said, adding that Mahantha Thakur, who had quit the NC, would lead the TMDP with over two dozen central committee members.
