BIRGUNJ: People of Tharu community from Bara and Parsa districts staged a demonstration in Birgunj expressing solidarity with agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front on Sunday. On the 66th day of the Madhes agitation and 25th day of India’s unofficial border blockade, Tharu people took out motorcycle, tractor, elephant and horse rally at Raksaul’s Dasgaja area in Birgunj, in support of the ongoing protest in the plains.  Tharu senior Brij Mohan Chaudhary said they had staged the rally to express solidarity with the agitating Madhesi parties. Local UDMF leader Pardip Yadav said Tharu people’s participation in the rally had boosted their morale.
