Thousands benefit from health camp

Rajbiraj, February 19

A large number people are visiting the free health camp organised by Birendra Army Hospital in coordination with the Ministry of Health and Population in Rajbiraj, Saptari.

The free health camp that started from February 13 will continue tillĀ  February 23. People visiting the health camp are mainly from Udayapur, Sunsari, Siraha and the Indians towns bordering Nepal.

Brigadier General Dr Rajib Koirala of the army hospital said the camp was supposed to end on February 19, but due to increasing number of people at the camp, the date had been extended till February 23.

Lieutenant Colonel Gupta Bahadur Kunwar at Bhimdal Battalion said around 200 soldiers had been deployed to manage the camp after the number of people visting the camp increased unexpectedly. People suffering from diseases related to heart, ENT, skin, mental health, gyno-related ailments and eye are receiving free treatment and medicines, including general surgery.

Lieutenant Colonel of the army hospital Dr Nabin Bhakta Shakya said 126 medical teams, including 12 experts, are providing health services to patients in the camp. He added as many as 10,152 people had benefited from the health camp so far.
