Chitwan, January 4

Police have taken 6,636 litres of hooch under control in six month this fiscal from different places of Chitwan and Nawalparasi.

According to police, the police team seized the illegal homemade liquor from Jugedi, Bhandara, Tandi, Narayangadh, Gaindakot of Nawalparasi and handed it over to Inland Revenue Investigation Office, Bharatpur.

Of the 6,636 litres alcohol, 2,436 litres was said to be unidentified. The Inland Revenue Investigation Office has been looking towards eastern area of Daunne of Chitwan and Nawalparasi.Sources at Inland Revenue Office, Bharatpur said that action against six suppliers and five vehicles had been taken as per the law of land.

Chief Tikaram Bhusal of the office said they had collected Rs two 205,000 from smugglers and vehicle operators after they were booked.
