Three arrested with illegal drugs in Makawanpur

HETAUDA: Police arrested three persons with illegal drugs from two different locations of Makawanpur district in the past three days.

Makawanpur Police has arrested Amarjeet Kumar Singh (32) of Bihar in India along with 48.8 kilograms of marijuana on Saturday.

A joint team of police deployed from Province Police Office of Province 3 and Makawanpur District Police Office arrested Singh after discovering marijuana hidden inside the car with an Indian registration BR-31 M 5051 during the regular security check at Tintapke yesterday, informed Superintendent of Police (SP) Mukesh Kumar Singh at the District Police Office, during a press meet today.

The car was en route to Hetauda from Mahahari in the district.

Similarly, a police team deployed from Pashupatinagar Area Police Office under the leadership of Police Inspector Arun Kumar Kushwaha arrested Rupak Rai of Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City-8 with illegal pharmaceutical drugs on Friday during the regular checking along the Ratemate road section.

Rai was travelling in the micro (Na 1 Ja 1739) en route from Birgunj to Hetauda when he was found to be in the possession of 60 tablets of Nitrovet-10 during the frisking.

Likewise, police also arrested Pappu Roy Bhar (22) of Prasauni Rural Municipality-5 in Bara district with eight kilograms of marijuana from the same road section on Friday while he was en route to Birjung from Hetauda in the bus (Na 5 Kha 3952).

Meanwhile, investigation into the cases are undergoing, police said.
