KATHMANDU, MAY 30
Three siblings of a family from Bhotkhola region of remote Sankhuwasabha district created history by successfully scaling the world's highest mountain this season.
"We three brothers from Bhotkhola successfully reached the summit point of Mt Everest in a single season this spring," said Chhiring Sonam Lama, an IFMGA-certified guide, after returning from the expedition.

Sonam and his two brothers Phurpu Thilen Bhote and Lakpa Dorchi Bhote stood atop the world's highest mountain. "We became the first three brothers from Bhotkhola region to summit Mt Everest in a single season," Sonam said.
Sonam, a trained mountain guide, has climbed Mt Everest for the seventh time this season. He has already climbed Mt Lhotse 2 times, Manaslu 3 times, Amadablam 11 times and also climbed many 6,000 meters peaks as well.

"My brothers Phurpu Thilen and Lakpa Dorchi along with their clients climbed Mt Everest this season to become the first three siblings from Bhotkhola to have scaled the mountain," Sonam, who has been actively involved in this field of mountaineering and climbing professionally since 2007, shared.
Phurpu Thilen climbed Everest from Asian Trekking while Sonam and Lakpa Dorchi reached the summit point being part of the Seven Summit Treks.
