SIRAHA, SEPTEMBER 2

Three people, including a father and a son, were electrocuted in Siraha in the past two days. In Naraha Rural Municipality-5, 22-year-old Sunil Yadav died after he received an electric shock while trying to plug in a cable to run a water-pumping motor today.

Seriously injured, Yadav was rushed to RK Mero City Hospital in Dhangadhimai Municipality-9 but to no avail. According to ward Chairperson Hukumdev Yadav, the injured person was declared dead upon arrival. The victim's dead body has been kept at Lahan Hospital for postmortem.

Elsewhere, in Gol Bazaar, a father and his son died in a similar incident. Bijaya Sah, 42, of Gol Bazaar-6, Gramin Bazaar and his son Aman, 19, died when they were trying to plug in the wire of an electric generator yesterday.

"As learnt, the father was plugging in an electric generator inside a well after its cleanup when he received an electric shock, and as the son went to save the father, he too received the shock," said police. Though the father and the son had been rushed to the local hospital, but both of them breathed their last on the way itself, police added.
