Dhangadi, January 15

Police arrested three persons for their involvement in kidnapping a fellow worker from Dhangadi in Kailali today.

The arrested have been identified as Chakra Khadka of Dipayal, Doti; Harkesh Baga of Dhangadi and Kundan Joshi of Adarsha Rural Municipality.

Police said that Khadka and his friends were involved in abducting Basanta Bhat of Godawari Municipality, Kailali. Khadka and Bhat worked in the same Dhangadi-based Jasala Hotel in the kitchen.

According to hotel staffers, Khadka and Bhat had a minor row in the hotel today morning. Following the dispute, Khadka had thrashed Bhat with the help of three other youths and taken Bhat forcibly to Mohana Jungle this afternoon.

Meanwhile, police ordered Khadka through  telephone to release Bhat immediately after the information reached the police office. After the police order, Khadka and his friends fled from the site leaving Bhat alone. After some hours, police managed to arrest Khadka, Baga and Joshi while Chhatra Kathayat, who was also involved in the case, was absconding.  Police said they are searching for him.

Hotel proprietor Pradip Thapa rescued Bhat near Hotel Rubas in Dhangadi. Thapa said Khadka had come to his hotel a week ago.
