Three held for vandalising hospital offices in Birgunj
BIRGUNJ: Three people were arrested for vandalising the offices of Medical Superintendent and Hospital Development Committee Chairman at Narayani Sub-Regional Hospital in Birgunj of Parsa district on Monday.
Earlier, the Hospital had opened the vacancy to run Neonatal Intensive-Care Unit (NICU) for new child. A group of staff, however, are opposing the move.
Ram Dev Tiwari, Chairman of Hospital Development Committee, informed that there is no any kind of irregularity in the selection of right candidates. However, a group of young boys and girls vandalised his office on Monday morning.
More than six people were involved in the vandalism. However, only three are held, informed DSP Hobendra Bogati of District Police Office, Parsa.
The detainees have been identified as Ishwor Chandra Yadav of Laxumanwa, Anil Gupta and Nisantana Mishara of Pipra of the district.
According to the Hospital management, the incident occurred as planned by Rameshwor Prasad Patel, Chairman of Hospital Development Committee Staff Union, who is trying to appoint his son Roshan Patel on the post.
