KHOTANG: Police arrested three people including a hotel proprietor on charge of sexually abusing a woman and her underage daughter.

The woman was an employee of the Hotel Shuvadin at Diktel, the district headquarters. Those arrested have been identified as hotel proprietor Hari Prasad Acharya, Kabiraj Rijal and Tilak Karki.

Kabiraj is the son of the hotel's managing director, Dil Narayan Rijal, while Karki is a worker there. Police detained Kabiraj's mother Kopila Devi also for interrogation.

A case against Hari Prasad, Kabiraj and Tilak have been filed, police said.

They were arrested on Monday night after the National Human Rights Commission wrote to police, saying it would be difficult for the latter to conduct investigation if complaint was not filed against the perpetrators or the issue was settled through mutual agreement.

It is said the woman and her three-year-old daughter came under sexual abuse by the perpetrators for the second time.

Earlier, the woman had filed a complaint against the perpetrators but it was settled without any police case.
