Three Indian climbers make fake Everest summit claim?

KATHMANDU: Three Indian climbers, who claimed that they made it to the roof of the world on May 26, had not even reached Camp IV on Mt Everest this spring season, THT investigation has revealed.

The revelation comes at a time when local media outlets and communities in the northern Indian state of Haryana celebrated their so-called triumph of Mt Everest immediately after three climbers including two women returned to their home country last week.

Officials as well as the eyewitnesses shared that Indian climbers including Vikas Rana from Sudkain Khurd village of Jind district, Shobha Banwala, a resident of Karora in Kaithal district, and Ankush Kasana from Lalpura of Hisar district in Haryana had only reached Camp III before abandoning their summit pushes on May 26.
