SINDHULIMADI: One person died in a road accident whereas two others died on the spot when boulders fell upon them.

Forty-two-year-old Uma Acharya of Jhangajholi died on the spot when a bus coming from the opposite direction knocked the motorbike she was riding pillion at Jhangjholi-4 yesterday.

Her husband Devendra Acharya, 45, was seriously injured and was referred to Kathmandu for treatment.

Police arrested bus driver Panchalal Shrestha of Kavre and impounded the bus.

Meanwhile, two minor girls died on the spot when boulders fell upon them from a forest at Kakurthakur VDC-3, Hattikhola yesterday evening. The minors have been identified as Shantimaya Tamang, the one-year-old daughter of Lungja Singh Tamang and Dhan Kumari Tamang and the 10-year-old daughter of Chitra Bahadur Tamang. The accident took place while the minors were grazing cattle, said police.
