Three Nepalis killed in landslide in Uttarakhand

DARCHULA: At least six persons including three Nepalis were confirmed dead in a landslide at Pithoragarh of Uttarakhand, in the northern part of India, on Thursday.

The deceased have been identified as Hira Devi Bam of Pipalchaur in Dunhu Rural Municipality, her 12-year-old daughter Priyanka and two-year-old son Omkar, said the Deputy Superintendent of Police Kedar Khanal.

The injured are being treated at a hospital in Uttarakhand.

Meanwhile, two other Nepalis have been injured in a landslide at Dharchula Tehsil in Uttarakhand. The landslide had buried a jeep they were travelling in.

The jeep was heading towards Khalanga, the district headquarters in Darchula via the Indian route.
