Three of a family hurt in attack by dacoits

Three of a family, including the house-owner, were injured in an attack by armed dacoits at Phulbariya-8 on Saturday night. House-owner Mohibul Sheikh, who was critically injured, has been taken to Siliguri in India for treatment, locals said. Sheikh’s wife and brother Haribul, who were also injured in the attack, returned after treatment at a local health post, a local Jeevchha Shah said.
Some 12 masked dacoits looted the houses of Mohibul and Wadud Sheikh and made off with Rs 3 lakh and 11 tolas of gold, the Mirchaiya area police office (APO) said. Mohibul, his wife and brother have sustained injuries.
In another incident in Rautahat on Saturday night, one person was injured when dacoits fired indiscriminately and looted property from the houses of Jaya Narayan Yadav, Taitraya Yadav and Surendra Sahani at Sakhuawa Dhamura VDC of Rautahat.
