Three persons still missing

Bardiya, January 9:

The whereabouts of three persons, who were disappeared by the then Royal Nepalese Army,

some four years ago, are still unknown.

A team of army personnel from Chisapani-based Company of the Army had arrested four persons — Ganga Ram Oli, 28, Durga Bahadur Oli, 18, Dal Bir Sunwar and Til Bahadur BK from Chhinchu-1 on September 28, 2002, but BK was freed after 10 days and the whereabouts of three persons is still unknown.

“I went to different places in search of my two sons but in vain. I reached National Human Rights Commission office, INSEC, ICRC office, among other places, urging to search for my sons. Most of the rights organisations assured to find out my sons. However, their whereabouts are still unknown,” said Deuman Oli, father of Durga Bahadur and Ganga Ram.

“In December 21, 2005, an ICRC team arrived at my house saying that Durga Bahadur was released. However, we do not know about his release,” Deuman said.

Informing that there was a new broadcast in Radio Nepal on the next day of their arrest, that three Maoists were killed in Hattikhola clash, Deuman said: “We went there the next day but found no proof of the death.” Nandaram, 57, father of Dal Bir said: “The whereabouts of my son should be made public.”
