Three suspicious objects found in Tanahun
DAMAULI: Locals are terrified after suspicious objects were found in three locations of Tanahun district following the Nepal Bandh called by Netra Bikram Chand (Biplav)-led Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) on Thursday.
According to Spokesperson at Tanahun District Police Office, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Lilaraj Lamichhane, the suspicious objects were found in Shuklagandaki, Rising, and Bandipur Rural Municipalities of the district. All three suspicious objects have been removed by the authorities.
DSP Lamichhane added that a casserole (utensil to keep food warm) was placed along the wall of local Thapa Hardware near the Shuklagandaki Rural Municipality office. The vessel filled with soil and sand but with no wire was removed by a team of police deployed under the leadership of Police Inspector Saroj Giri from Belchaur-based Area Police Office.
Similarly, a suspicious-looking presser cooker wrapped in a red plastic was removed by Nepal Army's bomb disposal unit from near Marshyangdi Dam in Bandipur Rural Municipality-1.
Likewise, a blazing gas cylinder placed in Jhaputar of Rising Rural Municipality-1 was doused and removed by a police team deployed from District Police Office.
Preliminary investigation points that all suspicious objects have been placed by Biplav-led CPN to terrorise the locals, said DSP Lamichhane while adding that search for the involved has been expedited.
