Bara, January 11:

Some 4,000 cubic feet of Sal logs were seized from a godown yesterday and today at Purano Mrigtole in Nijgarh VDC 4 of Bara. Teams from the district office of the forest, police, administration and armed police force offices raided the locality and seized the wood, inspector Rameshwar Yadav said.

Meanwhile, a report from Bhairahawa said police arrested one Hareram Giri of Kervani VDC of Rupandehi district with 27 kg of hashish today. Giri was caught at Thokabar of Kervani VDC when police came to him posing as customers while he was looking for buyers for the hashish.
